Excellent hibachi chicken and filet mignon. You can't go wrong with either the noodles or rice. The hibachi chefs are always entertaining and fun.

Peking palace has been in business over 15 years. They added Shogun recently. The interior is beautiful, and calm. The food is at a dietitian preferred portion size. The food is perfectly prepared. The service friendly. It is pricey to eat there, our bill was $60.80. But everything was perfect. One of my favorite places to eat at in Fort Smith.

Last time my family ate here, we ALL got very sick. I called and asked for a refund and to tell them their food made us sick and they hung up on me several times. They didn't care. Terrible restaurant. Stay away!

Yes, this is a buffet restaurant with two islands. Unfortunately, only one island with normal dishes and the second had a tray of melon bowls, a tray of 7 to 8 cake slices, bowl of peach slices, remnants of pineapples, 5 to 6 orange slices, few jello cubes, a midsize bowl of peel and eat shrimps and most importantly, their sushi spread. Oh yes, I can't forget the sugared donuts, without the sugar (just greasy) and few fried wontons. Did I mention that there was a sushi spread? Let me revise that and say a small sushi tray. This consisted of fried egg and cream cheese roll, julienne cucumber and imitation crab meat roll. If, you wanted any of the real sushi rolls, yes you got it, this can be ordered for extra charge. Hey, I don't mind paying for the sushi, had I known there was no sushi spread as part of the buffet. Perhaps, I was reading too much into the advertisement? This had to be the worst sushi availability at a Chinese buffet restaurant. I would have to say, it was worse than the one star rated buffet restaurant in Federal Way in WA. The main food island had 20 trays. Unfortunately, this was not much better. 6 out of 20 trays had almost nothing in them and the rest of the food looked fairly old. I know I was a little early for dinner and too late for lunch. Even the soups had a thick film coating the top. Needless to say, these have not been touched by anyone in a while. They could have at least stirred the soup to make it look fresh. I could have walked out, but since I was already sitting and ordered my drink, I thought that would be really rude thing to do and decided to tough it out. For their credit, what little food I took was pretty good, all though, some were a little salty. No, I am not a fan of salty food. The management and the servers walked by and looked at the food trays several times, but they did not come out with any fresh food. I've waited another few minutes and finally asked one of the servers, when they were going to bring out some fresh food. He asked what I wanted and when I pointed out all of the empty trays, he just walked away. Yes, like an idiot, I've waited another few minutes only because, I was still very hungry. After, what seemed like an eternity, they finally started to bring out some fresh food. You may be asking, why did I give them two starts instead of one? That is only because of the taste of the food. They were not bad. Now, would I go back there to eat again? Absolutely not! Now, that I know there are other places near the hotel.

Start with a large Sapporo and Nigori. Order miso soup and sushi from the menu. There are not a lot of fish options (it is in the middle of America after all), but plenty of combinations. Our favorites were the the Caterpillar Roll and Captain Crunch. Don't want sushi? There's a Chinese buffet and hibachi. The service was attentive and friendly. We'll be back again.

The food I have had here is pretty good. I'm giving them 2 stars because of a service issue I had there last night. Three is us had dinner there, we got two separate checks. After they took our credit cards, our waitress disappeared. When she finally came back nearly 10 minutes later, she told us that our original bills had not reflected the correct prices for the beers we had drank. Which is fine, mistakes happen. My issue is that they ran our cards before bringing the mistake to our attention. The difference was only a few dollars, but it's the principal of the matter that bothers me. You don't charge someone's card for a different amount than what the bill reflected. If a mistake was made, discuss it with me first!

Based upon high Yelp ratings & wanting a Udon while passing through this town, we gave this place a try. For starters, the Shogun door was bolted shut & a sign sent us next door to the Chinese restaurant Peking Palace. So we went in there and were immediately directed to a Chinese buffet. Huh? WTF? All workers we saw were Chinese, so we went for the buffet. It was sub-standard. The best part was the ice cream for dessert. Not much of a Japanese place. Ambiance/Decor - 4 STARS Service - 3 STARS Food - 2 STARS Location - 3 STARS House Wine - 2 STARS

What a pleasant surprise a decent sushi place in FT Smith AR. Presentation of sushi very simple. Nothing elaborate. Husband had buffet and really liked it. Service a bit shaky, but what the hey. We weren't in a rush.

This restaurant boasts one of the best standard Chinese buffets in town, along with the best Hibachi/Teppanyaki as well as average sushi. I eat all three semi-regularly. It's a bit pricey, to be honest, but the food is always solid. The teppanyaki show is great. Bring the kids.

To me, the buffet is on par with others in town taste-wise, but with less variety. The sushi and hibachi, however, are the best in town. Even better than Fuji, which most people around here seem drawn to. Even though it's a bit pricey, everything on the hibachi is to die for, and the service is both timely and entertaining. In a nutshell, go for sushi or hibachi rather than the buffet, and you won't be disappointed.

Average sushi served in a timely manner. Not the best but probably as good as can be found around here. Would eat here again.

I wasn't sure why this place was called "Shougun Steakhouse". I thought a steakhouse consisted with the main course to be...well...steak. This place had japanese and chinese food available for you. You can either order from the menu or a buffet; but with all honesty, I've had take-out food tasting better than this place. If you want sushi, it's an alright place to go, since it seems to be the only sushi place in Ft. Smith. But my husband and I believe we've just been spoiled with other sushi restaurants from other states (we're visitors). The fish in the sushi was too dry and didn't taste fresh at all, the wasabi was even starting to color to brown (which I've never seen before). We ordered chinese food as well and the meat lacked taste what-so-ever. I really was very dissapointed with this place since my family and I love sushi and I love making it myself. I apologise if I offended anyone but this was just my honest opinion as a visitor in this town. I'm sure the place is nice and the food is wonderful for the others that reviewed it... we just failed to have the same experience as the rest.

I dream of their volcano roll and hibachi noodles in my sleep. I've even brought noodles back from a visit for my hubby. For some reason I compare lots of sushi places to this one. I guess its because its where I fell in love with sushi. Another reason is that it seems clean and the rolls always fresh, or at least as fresh as it can be in the middle of the U.S. The service is very attentive yet distant, which is huge in my book .And I love a place that remembers your favorites(or maybe i've been too many times?). The hibachi grill is great but I've had my experience, now I'd rather have my own table to myself and friends. Don't miss their noodles or volcano roll! and remember you can order from the hibachi menu without awkwardly eating with strangers.

Shogun is without a doubt the best Japanese restaurant to be had within any kind of reasonable driving distance from Fort Smith. The ambiance is fantastic. The wait staff is courteous and attentive. And the food is excellent from the buffet to the hibachi to the sushi. You'll be well served to give this place a shot whether you're from the area and looking for something new or in from out of town and missing your hometown favorite.

We love this place, its a fun atmosphere. The chefs are not only great cooks but the hibachi chefs put on a spectacular show!. There are other places in Fort Smith to get sushi but nowhere else can you get it for such a good price and this tasty. As good as it gets!

I was iffy about this place because of some of the reviews, but my husband, my brother, and I were really wanting sushi, and since it was one of the few options we had, we decided to give them a try. I really like that there are so many food options on one place! My dad had the buffet, because he is not a fan of sushi, he seemed very pleased with the food he got. The rest of us ordered several different sushi rolls to share. Our waitress was very attentive and had a wonderful attitude, even if her English wasn't great! Our sushi was made rather quickly and brought to us, which shocked me because they were so busy! The food was amazing! I wasn't a huge fan of the spider roll I got, the crab didn't taste the freshest. They did forget one of our rolls, but it was fixed and brought out quickly when we let our waitress know we hadn't received it. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we will definitely be back!
